What is #MyDisabledLifeIsWorthy?

The #MyDisabledLifeIsWorthy campaign is a cross-social media, grassroots campaign launched by Imani Barbarin spurred by comments from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky on the Good Morning America TV show on 7 January 2022, but part of an overall trend during the COVID19 crisis to marginalize the disability community at best and put disabled people at heightened risk and reduced healthcare services or even “triage” to cut off healthcare.

Rather than ignore people with complex medical conditions, or blame or happily sacrifice us, what about listening to us just a little and giving us a seat at the table before more people who used to be healthy join our ranks with #longcovid?

An excellent review of the #MyDisabledLifeIsWorthy campaign by Joey Pagano.
