Our PACU, or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit provides a safe place for patients of all ages to recover. There are a total of 42 PACU beds in the main hospital. Patients receive one-on-one nursing care on arrival and a PACU nurse is always at the bedside. All of our nurses are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life support and have received additional training in advanced airway management, pain management, along with the specialized care for more complex cases, like kidney transplantations and trauma. Anesthesiologists are immediately available for patient care needs. Our Transitional Care Unit Program prepares a select patient population for an extended post op stay course in lieu of an inpatient stay. This specialized program has allowed for superior care, better inpatient bed utilization and an increase in overall patient/family satisfaction.
